PDF Redline Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 October 2026
The app does not collect personal data, and your documents never leave your device.
This policy explains how PDF Redline, a Windows app published by Professional Coding ("we", "us"), handles your information.
Your documents
PDF Redline opens, renders and compares the PDF files you choose entirely on your own PC. Your documents and their contents are never uploaded, transmitted or shared with us or anyone else.
Information stored on your device
To make the app work the way you expect, PDF Redline saves the following on your PC, in the app's own storage area:
- Your preferences, such as theme, zoom level, highlight colours and comparison options.
- Your comparison history: the file paths of recently compared documents, when you compared them and how many differences were found (up to 50 entries).
- Your review progress: which pages you have marked as reviewed or flagged for each pair of documents.
- The size and position of the app window.
This information stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can clear your comparison history at any time from the History menu in the app. Uninstalling PDF Redline removes all of it.
Windows may sync your app preferences (not your history or review progress) to other devices signed in to the same Microsoft account. This is handled by Windows under Microsoft's privacy statement, and we cannot access it.
Licensing through the Microsoft Store
When the app starts, it asks the Microsoft Store whether you are in your free trial or have purchased the app. This check is made by Windows and the Microsoft Store, and Microsoft handles any information involved under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. We receive only the purchase and sales reports that Microsoft provides to app publishers, which do not identify you personally.
What we do not do
- We do not collect analytics, usage statistics or crash reports through the app.
- We do not show advertising or use tracking of any kind.
- We do not require an account or ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.
- We do not sell or share any information about you.
Clipboard and links
When you choose to copy a summary of differences, the app places it on your Windows clipboard. Links in the app, such as the support link and this policy, open in your default web browser.
Contacting support
If you contact us through the contact form on our website, we use the name, email address and message you provide only to reply to you and help with your request. We do not add you to any mailing list. The website privacy policy explains how contact form messages are handled.
Children
PDF Redline is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how PDF Redline handles information, we will update this policy and the date at the top of this page.
